Judging

Judging Criteria

As making a video is a new experience for many students, it is important to emphasise that short films were primarily be judged upon the quality of the narrative. The 2015 Short Films were judged based on the following criteria:

  • Accessibility: Does the video clearly present information in a style which is accessible to a broad audience?
  • Engagement: Is the video engaging, inspiring and presented in an enthusiastic manner?
  • Impact: Does the video articulate the impact or potential impact of the research, whether this be at an individual, local, national or international level?
  • Narrative: Does the video have a coherent narrative, make a clear point and retain interest throughout?
  • Impression: What is your overall impression of the video?
